Biography

Abdulla Faiz was born in Male', Maldives in 1956. His interest in art began early in life.

Faiz is captivated by the power of oil color and the expressive potential of impressionistic painting.  His paintings pay tribute to the dream-like beauty and tranqulity of the paradise called Maldives, that surrounds him.

 

It is his hope that his paintings, whether displayed in private collections or exhibited in galleries, serve as reminders of the profound beauty arround us.

Although he describes himself as ‘self-taught’, his artistic journey began with a solid foundation in art.

His unique interpretation of impressionism with loose, expressive brush strokes, and vibrant colors, brings seascapes land scapes and lively city streets bathed in warm sunlight, to life, with a sense vibrance.

 

His paintings invite viewers to experience the beauty that surrounds us all.
